CMPD & FBI Women in Law Enforcement
What: In honor of National Women’s History month, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the FBI Charlotte Field Office will host a recruitment event for women in law enforcement. The event is designed to be highly interactive; women will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one to women who work in sworn and professional positions.
Why: It is important that the professionals who comprise law enforcement agencies reflect the community they serve. Both agencies are part of the 30 by 30 national initiative to increase the number of women in the ranks to 30% by the year 2030.
When: Saturday, March 4, 2023
- 9-10 a.m.: Mingle, optional registration session.
- 10-11 a.m.: Panel discussion featuring women from both agencies in auditorium. Audience members can ask questions.
- 11 a.m.- 1.p.m.: Speak with recruiters, agents, detectives, supervisors and a variety of professional staff employees. Hands-on demonstrations from the FBI Evidence Response team and CMPD crime scene technicians, SWAT, bomb squad, K9, lake patrol, school resource officers, community outreach and others.
